Question 1

What does ChessMentor AI do?

Accepted Answer

It imports your Chess.com and Lichess games, analyses them with Stockfish 18 in your browser, shows a style radar, builds puzzles from your own mistakes, and comments 1 game in plain words for free. Pro unlocks coach comments on every game. There is no chatbot.

Question 2

How does that help me improve?

Accepted Answer

You stop reviewing one game in isolation. You see what kind of player you are, train the positions you actually miss, and can open Academy chapters matched to your weakest axis.

Question 3

Is ChessMentor AI free?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Import, Stockfish analysis, style radar, puzzles from your mistakes, Academy, and 1 coached game are free. Pro ($8.99/mo, 15-day trial) unlocks the coach on every game plus on-demand move explanations.

Question 4

How is this different from Aimchess or DecodeChess?

Accepted Answer

Aimchess is a stats dashboard. DecodeChess explains one position at a time. ChessMentor AI turns your own game history into a training plan — radar, personal puzzles, Academy — with 1 free coached game. It works with both Chess.com and Lichess.

Question 5

Can I use ChessMentor AI with Chess.com or Lichess?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Enter either username. Games import into one profile. Stockfish 18 runs in the browser.

Question 6

How accurate is the Stockfish analysis?

Accepted Answer

ChessMentor AI uses Stockfish 18 lite via WebAssembly in your browser. Depth is comparable to what Chess.com and Lichess use for amateur game review — enough to classify blunders, mistakes, and inaccuracies.
